Anuj Lugun is a poet, short-story writer, song composer, novelist, playwright and essayist, but he is best known for his poems. His political and social justice has earned him the title of tribal poet. Lugun’s writings expore themes such as love, freedom, revolution, and opposition to all types of bigotry. He received the Bharat bhudshan agarwal Award for his poem Aghoshit Ulgunan (Undeclared Uprising), the Rashtriya Muktibodh Puraskara and the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar.
